This was a fantastic end to our season and showed how we can play when everyone plays with skill and determination. St Helen's look like being deserved league champions yet you could not really split the teams in an end to end thriller. We probably played better today than earlier in the season when we beat the same opponents 4-2. There were some fine performances all over the pitch but Almond in goal and Roberts and Clarke in defence were excellent. Thompson, who has improved with every game, performed superbly on the right of midfield and Titherington fought for every ball. A lack of goals again cost us and Judge crashing against the bar late on perhaps sums up the second half of our season. Despite that well done to everyone for their efforts and we still have the Spring Cup and Leicester tournament to look forward to. A special mention today to our referee who I thought was superb and very generous in allowing Clarke to stay on for deliberate handball (St Helen's may not have agreed if he'd scored the equaliser!).
Please note we will be stopping midweek training for now but will train till the Leicester tournament on a Saturday morning if we have no game. After the 19th we will have a break then start again in early July. We have still to confirm the dates for Summer Camp but will let you know them as soon as possible.
